Important Facts About BTB Creditz
BTB Creditz is a licensed moneylender regulated under Singapore’s Moneylenders Act and overseen by the Ministry of Law. Any loan offer or communication that does not follow proper regulatory procedures is not issued by BTB Creditz.
Scammers may appear convincing. They may claim to be loan officers, share screenshots, use copied branding, or quote licence numbers to gain trust. Even if a message appears professional or authoritative, it should not be trusted unless it can be verified through our official channels.
How These Scam Impersonation Cases Typically Happen
Most impersonation scams follow a similar pattern. Victims are usually contacted through WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram, social media platforms, or personal mobile numbers.
Once contact is established, the scammer moves the conversation quickly towards supposed loan approval. Victims may be told that their loan has already been approved, or that approval is almost complete, in order to create urgency and lower suspicion.
At no point in this process does the scammer arrange for face-to-face verification at a physical office, which is a mandatory requirement for licensed moneylenders in Singapore.

- Claims that a loan will be disbursed only after payment is made
- Communication conducted entirely through messaging apps or personal handphone numbers
- Refusal or avoidance of in-person meetings at a physical office
Common Loan Scam Pattern Seen in Recent Cases
In recent cases, scammers have adopted a tactic designed to appear low-risk and legitimate. Victims are asked to transfer a small amount described as a verification or processing fee.
The scammer may claim that this payment is required to unlock the loan, confirm the borrower’s identity, or facilitate same-day disbursement. Once the transfer is made, the scammer claims that the funds will be released shortly.
In reality, no loan is ever disbursed. Some scammers disappear immediately after the first payment, while others continue requesting additional payments under new pretexts.
